Fiskardo Village

Fiskardo village is a relaxing place to stay, perfect for those who enjoy sunbathing and absorbing the atmosphere. It is the perfect place for families with children due to its small size. Fiskardo is surrounded by hills and valleys. The village is based around its waterfront with many private yachts and fishing boats. It is one of the few villages that survived the earthquake in 1953. Even though it has a beautiful landscape it is best known for its cosmopolitan and warm atmosphere. Taverns, shops and bars can be found on the main road. The rich heritage of Kefalonia can be seen in traditional and Venetian buildings and houses. If you are interested in history of Fiskardo visit The Natural and Environmental Museum that lies above the waterfront and get a glimpse of life in Fiskardo in times past.

Emblisi Beach

There are a couple of small beaches at Fiskardo. The most famous one is the Emblisi beach, the second closest to Fiskardo village. The bay is sheltered and because of that is perfect for families with small children. This white pebbled beach is known for its clear waters and rocky coves. Therefore it is an ideal place for snorkeling and diving. A couple of dive centres are located by the port, so it is possible to enjoy reef, cave or wreck diving. Visibility can reach 40m here. If you just want to relax and soak up the sun we can not think of a better place to do it than the bevel rocks on the sides of the beach. The surrounding area is covered in lush greenery and high trees. Cypresses and olive trees are coming up to the seashore. The beach gets quite busy during the summer.
