Navagio and Blue Caves

One of the most famous destinations in Greece can only be accessed by the sea. It is the most photographed beach in the country, located on the west coast of the island. In 1983 an illegal boat carrying cigarettes was washed of the shore and in the years that followed the sand swallowed the boat. Today, only parts of this rusty boat are exposed, creating a magnificent picture. The Blue Caves are geological formations formed as a result of erosion. The caves are best known for the magnificent effect. The azure waters reflect the colour of the sky which is then mirrored on to the walls of the naturally formed caves. For the best experience of this phenomenon it would be best to visit the caves early in the morning or before sunset.

Keri

Keri is a destination at the South of the island formed by Keri Lake by the sea and a traditional village at the top of the hill overlooking the Ionian sea. In the village you can enjoy in hand-made coffee at the local kafeneion. Stone built houses and narrow streets are a great example of traditional architecture. If you take a walk along the sea you will find many local taverns, cafes and bars, where you can enjoy in local dishes and live Greek music with traditional dancing and singing. Keri Caves, with its magnificent white cliffs and stunning arches coming out of the sea, are one more place worth visiting. This area is also known for the vineyards and olive groves that produce the best quality olive oil in and wine in Zakynthos.
